SINGING AT LEATHERHEAD

The Mole Valley Arts Alive Festival was kick started by street parties in Dorking and Leatherhead. Performers were in both locations to entertain the passers-by, and The Downsmen were asked to fill two half-hour slots in the Swan Centre. Unaccompanied singing outdoors is usually hard work, particularly when competing for shoppers’ attention with the regular market stallholders. However, The Downsmen managed to draw an appreciative crowd who stayed very loyal until the end of the last number.
