16th Sunday - NATIONAL LEARN TO SING DAY

On Sunday 16th October courses are being run right across the UK to encourage more men to take up singing.

The Downsmen, a local barbershop chorus, invites all men in the area to the Abela Function Room, The Haywain, Dorking Road, Epsom KT18 7LB between 10am and 4pm.

The day is free and eats will be provided.

There are many men who would love to sing but never get around to it. This free course will help you discover your voice and gain confidence.

Maybe it is a few years since you have sung, in which case this day presents the perfect way to ease your vocal chords back into action.

22nd Saturday - QUIZ NIGHT

Come and join us at the Banstead Community Centre, Park Road, Banstead. We have enlisted the help of Paul Bullock, one of our Baritones, to be Quiz Master this time. He will be alternating with Digby Ridge, who gave us some questions to grapple with back in April.

26th Saturday - Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall

An evening of entertainment in the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall. The line up is looking impressive. In addition to our barbershop chorus we have invited the following entertainers:

- S.I.N.G. a mixed choir from Purley started by our MD, Lisa Robathan.

- Mr Music Man, Stephen Best. He can play over 20 instruments, but not all at the same time. The plan is for instrumental breaks during the evening.

- Claire & Matt Howes, a brother and sister team of talented hoofers to give us a tap routine as every good musical show needs accomplished dancers.
